Dr. Hurst was raised in Ohatchee, AL where he graduated from Ohatchee High in 1985.  He then moved to Tennessee and attended The University of the South in Sewanee, TN where he graduated with a BS in Biology in 1990.  After working as a musician in Nashville for 4 years, Dr. Hurst attended The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine where he earned his DVM in 1998.  He has worked at several veterinary hospitals including Hillsboro Animal Hospital, Hermitage Animal Hospital and Nashville Pet Emergency Clinic where he served as President of the Board of Directors for 2 years.  Dr. Hurst purchased Harpeth Valley in August, 2005.  He and his wife Dr. Laurie Blanco were married in 2001.  They have 2 daughters:  Taylor, born in 2007 and Emma Rose, born in 2009.

Dr. Malone was born and raised in Columbia, TN where he graduated from Columbia Central High School in 1996.  He then attended Centre College in Danville, KY where he graduated with a BS in Biology in 2000.  Dr. Malone earned his DVM at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine where he graduated in 2006.  He and his wife Danielle were married in 2000.  They moved to Nashville in June, 2006 when Dr. Malone joined the staff here at Harpeth Valley.  Their son, Crosby, was born in December, 2008.

Dr. Blanco grew up in Chicago, IL were she graduated from Oak Park/River Forest High School in 1988.  She then attended Duke University where she earned her BS in Biology in 1992.  Dr. Blanco earned her DVM from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997 then moved on to The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine.  While in Knoxville she completed a general  1-year internship followed by a 3-year residency in internal medicine.  She was admitted as a Diplomate in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2002.  She has worked as a specialist at hospitals in Nashville and Chicago and currently works as a nationwide consultant in internal medicine and ultrasound. Dr. Blanco has acted as a consultant for Harpeth Valley since 2005.  She and Dr. Hurst have been married since 2001.

Dr. Perkins grew up in Edmonton, Kentucky where she graduated from Metcalfe County High School in 1991.  She then attended Lindsey Wilson College and The University of Kentucky where she earned a BS in Biology in 1999.  Dr. Perkins attended Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine where she gained her DVM in 2003.  She practiced at Tennessee Equine Hospital in Thompson Station, Tennessee from 2003 until September, 2007 when she joined the staff at Harpeth Valley.  Dr. Perkins was certified in canine physical rehabilitation in 2009.  She currently lives in Franklin.
